Coastal Retreats
Location: South West
Project Description: A new collection of architecturally designed coastal retreats.
Status: Conceptual Phase
Designed to sit lightly within the landscape, the collection explores the integration of contemporary architecture, prefabricated modular construction and environmentally responsive design to create accommodation that is both timeless and resilient.
Prefabricated construction forms a key part of the design approach, allowing for greater control over construction quality and efficiency, while reducing on-site construction time and disturbance to the surrounding landscape.
Each retreat has been carefully considered to maximise natural light, passive solar performance and cross ventilation, while embracing Passive House principles to enhance occupant comfort and minimise operational energy demands throughout the year.
The architecture is defined by simple gabled forms and a restrained material palette, creating a calm and understated presence within the landscape. The retreats are intended to sit lightly within their setting, with an architectural language that allows the surrounding coastal environment to remain the dominant experience
